Whether you choose to participate in the Advanced or Basic Level for your Drug Free Safety Program, the ultimate goal is to keep your employees safe and reduce the level of accidents and injuries resulting from workplace use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs. The BWC requirements for the Basic Level program are similar to those of the Advanced Level program with the exception of the requirement standards for random drug testing and employee assistance resources.
4% Premium Discount Eligibility
The BASIC Level of participation offers employers a 4% premium discount based upon the successful fulfillment of the Basic Level requirements. Our Drug Free Safety team will provide your company with the online training resources, coordinate streamlined drug testing, and maintain required documentation to ensure your company is meeting the requirements of Basic Level participation.

- A written substance abuse policy
- Annual Employee Education
- Annual Supervisor Training
- Drug and Alcohol Testing
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Online Accident Reporting
- Annual Progress Report

Other Notes
Although RANDOM testing is not a requirement of the BASIC Level, the company has the right to implement random testing for the entire workforce. All other types of drug & alcohol testing are a requirement of the BASIC Level.
